These two sweethearts make quite the pair,

Please come and show them that you care.

I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!

Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, is the date that Trevor Sean Crawford and I will be getting married. He is the best friend and companion I have ever known. What a sweet wonderful man the Lord has brought into my life. I never knew I could be treated so well or be so in love on such a deep level. Our relationship amazes me.

Trevor has two cute kids of his own, Hailey, 6, and Tyler, 3. Benji, Brinlee and I get along with them well.

While these aren't our engagement pictures (those will be taken this Saturday) they are dang stinkin' cute. My friend Jordyn Flowers took them. She is amazing.

Check out her blog at:

These were taken outside the Oquirrh Mountain Temple on Sept. 4, the day my friend Meloni went through the Temple for the first time.

This next picture is one of the first we have together. It was taken at Weber State University's Football Stadium on the 50 yard line on one of our fun dates.

Here is a preview of what this crazy new family will look like.

Hailey, Tyler, Karen, Brinlee, Benji

Tyler and Hailey, soon to be my step-children.

Happy Pioneer Day!

I am glad to be able to celebrate this special day for the Church of Jesus Christ's Latter-day Saints. One hundred Sixty-three year ago, Brigham Young declared "This is the right place." I am so blessed to have lives in this great state and to be a part of this wonderful Church. The pioneers sacrificed so much to keep Zion alive in the minds and hearts of the people and I am thankful that despite the hardships they went through and the things that lead them to this land, that were ever faithful.

Blessed, Honored, Pioneers!

I am so glad that I know that Jesus Christ is real.

I know that my Savior is real, but not only that but that he is a real friend. I know that He lives and loves me, despite my weaknesses, transgressions and repeated mistakes. He loves me and all of God's children.

I am blessed to have this knowledge. I pray for others who don't or who have forgotten.

Down but in a good way

Just thought I would post my latest new low.....

75 pounds lost since my highest weight! Woot! Woot! My doctor says only 4 pounds more to go before he wants the weight loss to ebb.

Not that I like one bit that I weighed as much as I did, but the good news is that the weight loss did happen even if it took many months and occured one pound at a time.

I guess that is how I gained it too. He, he.

Now it's going to be maintain, maintain, maintain and don't beat up myself no matter what!

True happiness doesn't come from what the numbers on the scale say.

The door swings both ways lyrics

Here are the lyrics to a Herman's Hermits song called either "This door swings both ways" or "The door swings both ways."

Everyone's life is bittersweet
It`s a door that opens wide
And no man can call himself complete
Till he`s seen it from both sides

This door swings both ways
It`s marked `In` and `Out`
Some days you`ll want to cry
And some days you will shout

This door swings both ways
It goes back and forth
In comes a southern breeze
Or a cold wind from the north

This door swings both ways
Lets in joy and pain
In comes the morning sun
And then the evening rain

This door swings both ways
Lets in dark and light
Every day you make the choice
To let in wrong or right

When shadows fall
You must prepare yourself for sunshine
For everything there is an end
And so my friend you must be brave

This door swings both ways
Which one will it be
Will we live in happiness
Or dwell in misery

This door swings both ways
Lets in earth and sky
Make the most of livin`
If you`re not prepared to die
Make the most of livin`
If you`re not prepared to die

..........

I thought this song had a great message and I think it has a lot of gospel principals and ideas that can be gleaned from it like knowing there is opposition in all things.

Another thought that comes to mind is one I learned from my grandma, "The quickest way to become a failure is to try and please everyone." I have found that pleasing everyone is simply not possible (at least for me, trust me I've tried.) I just try to do the best I can and no matter what that is, someone is always bound to find fault in my actions or non actions but that doesn't mean I should quit doing things I feel to be right. Yes, humility to accept direction for possible better ways to handle things is important to be aware of, but in reality the choices as to what I do are up to me.

I try to do the best I can, realize and accept that I am not perfect, keep trying to better myself and the world I live in, keep the commandments, live, love, be happy, and work.

I want to try and be a better peacemaker and certainly have some room to work on that aspect of my life this week. The fact that I acknowledge this I think is a good step in the right direction.
